Our friends from Radio Club Novi Sad YU7BPQ have been working very hard these days. The antenna is assembled and tested.
This Radio Club has a long history, dating back to 1925 when the first club was formed. At one point , there were even 7 clubs in the city of Novi Sad but the YU7BPQ had always been the centerpiece.

The beginning was modest, with small staff, minimal finance and technical equipment and within tiny premises. But few enthusiasts worked relentlessly, as radio-amateurs always do, so members were gathered in youth, junior and senior groups.
In 1950 the first receiver/transimitter section were formed with a call sign YU1BPQ while the first messages were sent in 1954 after creating specialist staff. By the end of that first year, a total of eight operators  established more than 1000 radio connections with 70 countries.
During 90-year period of existence hundreds of radio mechanics and other specialists were trained, just as 2500 operators in different classes, along with an overall 20,000 citizens who  participated in the club activities.

Successful cooperation has been established with government institutions, schools and other organizations enabling a long term success. However, historically,  the committed individuals have always been and still are the pillars of the radio amateur club.

Great job!

Keep up the good work!
